ERNESTO

EE Burritos is a hot spot for Latin cuisine and culture. A restaurant by day and a dance hall by night, the owner of the business is Ernesto Hernandez. Ernesto is a strong advocate for community development. Over the years Ernesto has rescued several women from Saskatoon's sex trade by giving them jobs. Today he is helping Johnny, a young man who has spent much of his adult life in jail. Johnny is Ernesto's newest employee, and his story of gang violence is a wake-up call for at-risk youth. During an intimate interview, Ernesto reveals his own history of violence: as a child soldier fighting against the government forces in El Salvador's brutal civil war. Ernesto is all about second chances.

Ever since EE Burritos opened my family and I have loved going there. After watching the episode last night I now love it even more. Ernesto is an inspiration and a very welcomed addition to our community. Great work by all!

What an awesome show!

I love Landing, and this episode. What a great story to kick off Season 2. Such a moving and inspiring story - should make the city of Saskatoon proud - EE Burritos is wonderful!

What an incredible story. To think, all that Ernesto has gone through in his life and now he is helping so many young people. I'd be interested to know how Johnny and the others are doing.
