HAZLET

Hazlet Saskatchewan, population 75, should have had its school shut down years ago. Refusing to roll over and die, the residents of this small community in Southern Saskatchewan have worked hard to maintain their school through the creation of an international exchange program. A total of 12 students from around the world currently call Hazlet home including Lee from Korea. Lee is a bright young man that is responsible for bringing a basketball team to Hazlet for the first time in two decades. Meanwhile, Sylvana (Mexico) and Kim (Germany) work on a class project: to make a documentary about Hazlet to send home to their parents. The Hazlet School tells a story of local rejuvenation through international programs and global exchange.
