Tammy Cook-Searson grew up on the trap line in a remote area of Northern Saskatchewan. Tammy grew up fishing, hunting and trapping, and spoke only Cree until she was a teenager. When Tammy left the trapline and entered high school in the city of Prince Albert, she got into trouble, then got out of trouble by reconnecting with her traditions. Now she is Chief of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, one of the most successful bands in Canada. During this episode we are introduced to the North as we follow a woman that has found her way through a life of change.
